March Newsletter

Welcome to the first Panto newsletter of 2014.
We hope you enjoyed a break and are looking forward to all our new activities for this year.

Summer Show 2014

We can confirm that this year’s Summer Show will be called One Fine Day and will be directed by Andy Northey. It will take place from Thursday to Saturday, 3rd to 5th July. The programme will be a collection of songs and comedy items suggested by different parts of a day. (I bet you can start to think of some of them already!!)
Rehearsals start at 7.30pm on Wednesday 5 March at the Pinhoe URC, so come along and find out more. We are looking for people aged 16 or over to take part.
Please contact Kim or Andy if you would like to know more.

The Aladdin’s Cave Appeal

We held a successful quiz night and a coffee morning and we hope to have other events during the year, including the Summer Show, which will enable us to purchase and install a shed to house all our backstage stuff. So far we have raised about £350 but there’s a lot more needed.
We will be providing the helpers for the Matford Car Boot Sale on Sunday September 28th. This will be a major event for us and the Committee are looking for a full turn out from members so that we can fulfil the commitment and, more importantly, raise the much needed funds.
Any other ideas for events will be welcome and we hope everyone will help us run events so that the work doesn’t all fall to the Committee.

Annual General Meeting

This will take place on Wednesday 19th March at 7.30 at the URC. Please come and support us. There are some vacancies for the committee, so give it some thought and speak to Annette if you are interested.
If you come to the AGM you can collect any DVDs or photos of Jack and the Beanstalk that you ordered and you should hopefully find out about next years panto.

Here are a few provisional dates in your diaries:

June 11 – Script Reading 7.30pm
July 2 – Cast Auditions 7.30pm
July 9 – Children and Chorus Auditions 7.00pm
July 16/24 – Read through
