- Apologies: There were none.
- Welcome and minutes of last meeting: Everyone was welcomed and the minutes were signed as true record of the last meeting.
- Matters Arising
- Health and Safety Policy: Penny Ball is still dealing with this.
- Under Floor duct America Hall: A cable has been laid under the floor and was used in the pantomime. The whole project will be completed when the bar is updated sometime during 2010.
- Storage: Still awaiting news.
- Pantomime Calendar: This was not completed for 2010 but it is hoped we will have a 2011 calendar available
- Christmas Greeting Board: This was a success and £42.03 was donated to PCA Parcels for the Elderly.
- Sweatshirts etc: These were popular and people would like them again but much earlier. Some members would like some with the small logo too.
- Christmas Dinner: Thanks were expressed to Emma and Faye for organising this popular event. It was suggested we try another venue next time; we would especially like a seating arrangement where we are not so far apart!
- Christmas Tree Festival 12 – 14 December: Our tree looked good and was an excellent advertisement. The event is likely to be held biennially. The whole event raised over £700 which was shared between the Parish Church and St Petrock’s for their work with the homeless.
- Members Page on Website: It was agreed to add a ‘members page’ but it would not be password protected. Signed minutes will be sent by e-mail this time but in the future they will be posted on the website.
- Secretary’s report:
- NODA: Membership for 2010 has been paid.
- Deputy Mayor: A letter of thanks was received from Mrs Ruth Smith who had very much enjoyed the pantomime.
- Treasurer’s report: As at the 30 Dec 2009 there was £4479 in the Lloyds account and £2330 in the Nationwide. During the year we purchased the sound desk and the printer and we should still make a profit of about £1500
- Pantomime 2010 - Beauty and the Beast: The Production Committee have not yet met. The show had obviously been a great success and was well received by our audiences. We had forgotten to ask for a critique and Terry was asked ‘on the night’ – his report is attached to these minutes.
- Sing a Long – 5 June 2010: Very few people had signed the form that was on the notice board, however, the list was now growing and it was agreed it should go ahead. Some of the children were interested and it was agreed to include them.
- Annual General Meeting 24 March 2010: Nomination forms will be sent out in February. Meeting to start at 7.30pm with no refreshments.
- Social Events
- Skittles – 6 March 2010: Several people have signed up for this and the list is still open.
- 30th Anniversary Barn Dance – 6 February 2010: Sue to prepare a food list and to liaise with Angela for names of people to send it to. It was agreed the society would provide desserts and Sue will arrange this. Wendy Staddon will make celebration cakes. Faye will arrange for a team of people to decorate the hall. Sue to contact the band so we can provide them with suitable liquid refreshment.
