Pantomime 2011
Teresa Stewart has agreed to produce the next pantomime, which is to be Aladdin. A script reading will be held on 19th May at the URC at 7.30. Potential new members are welcome to come to the reading, and auditions will be 9th and 16th June. For those offered principal parts there will be preliminary rehearsals on 30th June and 7th July. Then a well earned summer break before rehearsals start on 1st September.
Sing –along
We are having a sing-along aimed at the slightly older audience at America Hall on Saturday 5th June at 2.30. It will consist of “all join in” singing interspersed by solo items, and the audience will be served a cream tea. We need to sell 135 tickets, so please spread the word. Tickets will be £3, available from Angela Roberts from 1st May. A reminder to those who have put their names down to be in the cast, that the first rehearsal will be 24th May, 7.30 at the URC. And those doing solos should have heard from Emma Guerin about rehearsal dates.
Hairspray
Emma Pateman still has three tickets left for Hairspray at Plymouth Theatre Royal, price £27.50 adults and £25.50 children. If you are interested please get in touch with her as soon as possible.
Those who have already ordered tickets please pay her by 15th May.
News of members
Wendy Staddon has become a grandmother again. Daughter Becky, herself a former member of Pinhoe Panto, has given birth to a baby girl. Florence May (to be called Florrie) arrived on 23rd March, and weighed in at a healthy 7lbs 2oz. Congratulations to all concerned.
And Finally
I went to see a plastic surgeon last summer. Unfortunately he had melted.
